This is the class where people open the kiln and go — “wait… how did that happen?”

In this fused glass class, you’ll create a dish using layout techniques that shift and transform in the kiln, creating bold optical illusion effects. You’ll learn how to design with intention, using color and placement to create movement and depth in your finished piece.

It’s part science, part surprise, and one of the most fun ways to explore what fused glass can do.

You’ll cut and arrange glass pieces using specific layout techniques that shift during firing to create optical illusion effects. After class, your piece will be kiln-fired into its final dish shape.

👕 What to Wear

• Wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy — this is a hands-on class.

• Please wear close-toed shoes, no loose clothing, and hair tied back for safety

🛠️ What to Bring

• All materials and tools included. 

• If you wear reading glasses, bring them with you.

• If you have personal protective equipment (safety glasses, dust mask, etc.), feel free to bring it. Otherwise, we’ll provide what you need.
