About This Class

Ready to take your stained glass skills further?

This intermediate class is designed for students who have completed Stained Glass 101 (or have equivalent experience) and are ready to create something more personal. Instead of following a preset design, you’ll bring your own pattern and work through the full stained glass process with more independence and support.

With multiple sessions and access to the studio between classes, you’ll have the time and space to slow down, refine your technique, and create a piece that’s truly your own.

✨ What You'll Do

You’ll bring your own design to life while working through the full stained glass process.

This is a three-session class, with the option to come into the studio between classes to continue working on your piece. Each week builds on the last — from pattern prep and glass cutting to assembly, soldering, and finishing.

We’ll guide you along the way while giving you more independence to make decisions and develop your skills.

A fully customized stained glass piece based on your chosen design — built from start to finish with your own creative direction.

👕 What to Wear

• Wear something you don’t mind getting a little messy — this is a hands-on class.

• Please wear close-toed shoes, no loose clothing, and hair tied back for safety

🛠️ What to Bring

• All materials and tools included. 

• If you wear reading glasses, bring them with you.

• If you have personal protective equipment (safety glasses, dust mask, etc.), feel free to bring it. Otherwise, we’ll provide what you need.

• Anyone ready to move beyond pre-designed projects

• Makers who want more creative control and a deeper understanding of the process

• *Due to the use of lead during soldering, we do not recommend students that are pregnant or breastfeeding take our stained glass classes.

• This is a 3-week class series — you’ll return each week to continue your project

• You’re welcome to use open studio time between classes to work on your piece

• Glass is not included — bring your own or purchase from our curated Glass Library

• All other tools and materials are included

• This class builds on foundational stained glass skills and requires prior stained glass experience.

• This is a more in-depth class with time to refine your skills and design

✅ Prerequisites

• Completion of any of the 101 Stained Glass classes at DIYcave

• Ages 14+ welcome if accompanied by a parent/guardian. Both need to register and pay.
